Mayor of Colchester with Camp Jojo volunteers

We are delighted to announce that the new Mayor of Colchester, Andrew Ellis has chosen Camp Jojo as one of the four charities that will benefit from fundraising activities by the Mayors Charity Committee over the coming year. The Mayor who will be supported by his wife Nicky as Mayoress have the theme of Growing Well and Helping Colchester to Flourish.

So far we have been very fortunate to have the Mayor come to Ivy Farm on the first day of camp set up and help us install the marquee and some of the family tents. The Mayor and Mayoress then visited the site when it was ready to receive families, during our morning training session with the volunteers. They had an informative and enjoyable time seeing exactly what we can do. Conversations were had with volunteers and trustees where lots of ideas and information were shared.

There will be several fundraising events over the coming year which we will share with all our community and hope that some of you will be able to come to these and in turn, further support Camp Jojo.
