Countdown to Camp!

The Summer 2025 camps start next week!

The summer of Camp Jojo is about to kick off as we prepare to welcome 50 families, over seven camps to Ivy Farm. The final preparations are taking place to get the site ready. We can't wait for a summer of fun, campfires, sunsets and friendship. Walter and Hugo, the donkeys are getting ready to meet the families, as are the chickens and sheep! Look out on our social media feed for weekly updates and tales from camp. We can't wait!

Camp Jojo Cumbria (Northern site) Open Days

Two magical taster days at Nag's Head Farm

Camp Jojo's sister site, at Nag’s Head Farm, in Appleby In Westmorland, Cumbria will be officially opening in Summer 2026. This is largely due to a significant grant from The National Lottery Community Fund (www.tnlcommunityfund.org.uk). The grant is for £80,000 per year for 3 years (total £240,000) which will cover the majority of the routine operational and staff costs for the Northern Site and has made this development possible. In addition, The Clothworkers Foundation (www.clothworkersfoundation.org.uk) have pledged a grant of £50,ooo towards the cost specialist equipment needed to make Camp Jojo possible at Nag's Head Farm.

In preparation for the camps opening, Camp Jojo and Nag's Head Farm hosted two taster days for families and potential supporters and volunteers, in June. Sixteen families were able to spend the day taking part in activities typical for Camp Jojo, such as meeting the animals, pond-dipping, hammocks, arts & crafts, archery, campfire. The activities on the day were fully inclusive for all, and volunteers were on hand support the families. The families also enjoyed a wonderful music session from Annie Mawson's Sunbeams Music Trust.

As well as our VIP families, we were also delighted to welcome notable guests from the region, such as Tim Farron - MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale, Dr. Geoffrey Jolliffe - High Sherriff of Cumbria, Sandside School, Cumbria Community Foundation, My Community Penrith, 4Eden, and Appleby Rotary Club.

We were also thrilled to be joined on the day by The Roselands Trust, who have already pledged to cover the cost of the wheelchair track matting needed for camp, but having seen first-hand the magic of camp, have also now offered to cover the additional cost of building a fully wheelchair accessible treehouse on the Nag's Head site! We are over the moon and so grateful.

Volunteer News

Calling all volunteers!

Over two hundred volunteers have been vetted, processed and are ready to bring Camp Jojo to life, at Ivy Farm this summer. We are so excited to welcome back old friends and new volunteers alike. It is the volunteers that really create the magic at Camp Jojo. We also have more young volunteers, aged 14-18 than ever. The young volunteers bring such incredible energy to camp, so we are so thrilled to welcome them.

Camp Jojo Fundraising News

People's Postcode Lottery

At Camp Jojo HQ, we are thrilled to announce we have been awarded a grant of £25,000 of unrestricted funding raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery and awarded by Postcode Places Trust (www.postcodeplacestrust.org.uk). This funding makes such a difference to our ability to keep growing and reaching an increasing number of families with children with complex needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions and share the magic of Camp Jojo with them. The People's Postcode Lottery is such a wonderful example of the difference we, as society, can make when we stand together!
