Ivy Farm - Essex

Site Owners - Jenny & Ralph Spence

In August 2018, the first accessible camp was launched at Ivy Farm. The founders are a complementary mix of people with compassion and dedication who all shared the same vision. They dreamed of creating a place where children with complex needs and their families could enjoy a restful and fun time together in a quiet and secure rural environment.

This could not have been made possible without the commitment and support of Ralph and Jenny Spence, owners of Ivy Farm, and Chris Wright (Joel / Jojo’s mum). Ivy Farm, situated on the Essex coast, benefits from a beautiful and secluded location with easy access to the sea and a small woodland.

The activities the families enjoy include campfire sing-songs and talent shows, a trip to the beach to catch crabs or for a dip in the sea in customised wheelchairs, bushcraft sessions and pottery. The farm animals: donkeys, chickens and sheep have always been popular entertainment, not to mention bat spotting in the evenings!
